OA02 - Outdoor Activity: Munari Cycling Group

The Munari Cycling Group had a great weekend away on their Mildura ride. From the reports it would seem to have been a foodies delight as well as providing some great trails for riding - especially the Bright to Milawa rail trail.

OA05: Tuesday Cycling Group

The Tuesday riders recently visited Gippsland and, over a weekend, rode the Great Southern Rail Trail from Koonwarra to Foster and return.

Sample Ride: Skeleton Creek

So where is Skeleton Creek? It's the current end of the Hobson Bay Council's network of bayside bike trails - past Altona at the head of Port Phillip Bay.

For this trip the Group used the Gardiners Creek and Yarra trails into the city and then via Southbank to Docklands, past Telstra Dome and on to Footscray road; past the Stony Creek Backwash beneath the Westgate bridge; the Williamstown trail to Williamstown; then the Kororoit Creek trail which follows the Esplanade and on to Altona. From Altona across the Laverton Creek footbridge the trail passes through the Truganina Park and ends at Skeleton Creek in the Cheetham wetlands.
