Last year in March we boarded the Blackbird, a traditional ferry boat of Lakes Entrance fame, to venture upstream on the Maribyrnong River and we learned of the close association of the waterway with the early development of Melbourne.
The tour was so successful we decided to take a cruise downstream to the convergence of the Yarra and Maribyrnong Rivers, visiting the docks and Dockland areas. With the knowledgeable commentary of our Captain, we witnessed the present day development of our ports and city areas. In addition we cruised up to the Maribyrnong Road Bridge and Anglers' Pub areas.
A great day was had by all!
