In a recent"Higgins Newsletter" the Federal Member for Higgins, Peter Costello, had this to say about his presentation to U3A Hawthorn; "I was amazed at the large turnout. I gave a talk about the global financial crisis and the likely course of the global economy and the Australian economy in the next few years.
The questions went on for more than an hour. The audience was more searching and much better informed than the Canberra Press Gallery. I am sure that any people who wanted to join would be welcomed at this university."
